iD Commerce + Logistics has been recognized in the top three of “Best Places to Work for Millennials” for 2014. We at iD are honored to be recognized for our energy, team spirit, and diligence to excellence.
Where do you want to go, and how can you get there? Those two career questions are part of the three-week training for all new hires at iD Commerce & Logistics. “If you’re a millennial, you’re still figuring it out,” CEO Dan Arriola says. Charged with sorting out the “how” part, managers act as personal coaches and help workers fulfill career goals.
Even the luster of personal achievement can dim after a while, though. “You’ve got to give something bigger than yourself,” he says. If the firm meets quarterly goals, employees participate in a Habitat for Humanity project. If it meets year-end goals, it donates to Kiva, a nonprofit that helps provide microfinancing to low-income people around the world.
Employees of the month receive a $100 gift card—not for a retailer or restaurant, but to use on Donors-Choose.org, where teachers describe a classroom project and set a fundraising goal for the materials needed.
Not that the company shuns monetary rewards outright: The employee of the year receives a $1,000 check.
